The Portable Rotation 12PRSAT AZ/EL Rotor is a pretty cool product, works well with SATPC32. But there are several critical errors in the latest documentation (version 1.5).
To enter Magnetic Declination (14 degrees west in RI) do the following:
- Power unit ON with CW button held, and hold until “Config” screen shows
- On the Config screen (AC/SC/BR) press the MODE button to pick SC
- On the CalSensor screen (MD/Ex/PT) press the CCW button to pick MD
- Enter Magnetic Declination, with WEST entered as a negative number
To perform a calibration of the magnetic sensor, setup the tripod and antenna within +/- 30 degrees of North and +/- 10 degrees of level. Then do the following:
- With power already ON
- Press all 3 buttons (CCW/MODE/CW) together, and hold until the version info shows on the screen
- On the GP/VO/AC screen, use the CW button to pick AC
- On the CM/RH/AC screen, use the CCW button to pick CM
