It’s Alive (DVmega Part 2)

Alive

It took more than a little bit of doing, but my DVmega/RPi3 is up and running just fine now.

I can access the hotspot anywhere in my home using my ID-80AD on Super Low Power — this is a great improvement over trying to hit our local W1AAD machine, which I could only do in a few spots in my home while running high power (causing my hand to catch fire — the 80AD gets VERY hot).  So far REF/XRF linking works just fine, and I’ve seen my DGPS DVG position reports make it to the APRS network.

I will document the problems that I found with the pre-configured OS, and how I ultimately set the hotspot up.

I am having the same issues. I can hit the repeater hotspot but can not seem to connect to reflectors or even hear anything as of yet other then the “connecting to the repeater not linked”.. Would love to know what you ended up doing.

    Thanks!!

      Hi David,

Well in my particular case, things started working when I made sure the ircDDB Gateway program “Repeater 1” tab had the “Type” changed from Icom to Homebrew. That’s the same tab that you use to specify your default reflector. The change makes sense to me since the gateway is running on non-icom hardware. But I have no idea why it defaulted to Icom initially.

      Good luck to you!
