I suppose a hobby is not unlike a business — if you put measurements in place, they will often drive behavior. The hard part is picking the appropriate measurements.
With a little more spare time on my hands, I’ve been actively chasing DX again, even doing what a friend of mine recommends — participating in DX contests. The effort has paid off.
I’ve managed to add a couple more new countries, several more to the Challenge list (surpassing my year end goal of 900), and I’m creeping closer to my 5th DXCC band on 17 meters (won’t count toward 5BDXCC as I still need 13 more on 80 meters). With recent solar activity, 12 meters has really been paying off.
